Mumbai: In a sensational revelation, Indrani Mukerjea’s driver and murder co-accused Shyamvar Rai told the court on Friday that she (Indrani) strangled her daughter Sheena Bora in a car and later sat on her face.
“Indrani Madam sat on Sheena’s face and said – here’s your three-bedroom flat,” driver Shyamvar, who has turned an approver in the ‘Sheena Bora murder case’ said while he was being questioned in a CBI court.
Indrani, along with her husband and former media baron Peter Mukerjea, have been in jail since 2015 in connection with the murder of Sheena Bora. Sheena was Indrani’s daughter from a previous marriage.
Shyamvar also revealed that Indrani wanted to kill her other child Mikhail too.
In 2012, Sheena, a 25-year-old girl, was killed inside a car, allegedly by Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and her driver.
Sheena was in a relationship with Peter’s son Rahul Mukerjea, something which Indrani reportedly never approved.
The crime surfaced three years later after Indrani’s driver Shyamvar was arrested by the Mumbai police, who led the police to a jungles where Sheena’s body was dumped. However, when questioned, Indrani claimed that Sheena had moved to the United States and had not been in touch with anybody in all these years.
Indrani was arrested in August 2015. Three months later the police also arrested Peter Mukerjea over suspicion of his involvement in the case.
Shyamvar claimed that Indrani wanted to kill her children Sheena and Mikhail as they were defaming her by calling her mother. Indrani had introduced both Sheena and Mikhail as her sibings.
As told by driver, Sheena had reportedly demanded a luxurious three-bedroom flat in Mumbai from Indrani in exchange of keeping her secrets.
The driver claimed that on April 24, 2012 Indrani invited Sheena inside her car where she gave her daughter a drink which was laced with sedatives. She later strangled Sheena with her hands. A day later, Indrani set her daughter’s body on fire.
