Patna: In a tragic incident, District Magistrate of Bihar’s Buxar district Mukesh Pandey committed suicide by jumping before a train in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday evening. His body was found from the railway tracks.
According to preliminary information, it is revealed that Pandey was facing dispute at his home for some time & therefore took this drastic step. However, there has been no official confirmation on the same.
A police source claimed that before ending his life, Mukesh Pandey sent a message at his home about his intentions of jumping off a building in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area. The DM also mentioned about a suicide note that he had left at the Delhi’s Leela Hotel room where he was staying.
The relative soon informed the Delhi Police and asked them for help after which a team of police rushed to the building to stop Pandey. However, the DM managed to escape from the scene before the police could reach him. He soon ran towards the Ghaziabad area & jumped before a speeding train thus killing himself. The police have recovered the suicide note.
- Pandey was a 2012 bath IAS officer and hailed from Bihar’s Chhapra.
- He was recently transferred to the Buxar district by the Bihar Government.
- He had arrived at Delhi on Wednesday citing the poor health of one of his relatives & was staying at The Leela Hotel.
- The police recovered his mutilated body from the railway tracks.
