Chandigarh: In yet another chilling reminder of Nirbhaya incident, a woman was first abducted, gang-raped and then brutally murdered by at least seven youths in Haryana’s Rohtak district.
The incident allegedly occurred on May 9; however the body was spotted by locals much later from IMT area of Rohtak.
The body was identified based on a missing person complaint filed by the victim’s parents on May 9.
The girl was on her way to her work when a group of youths approached her and then took her to a deserted place, where they took turns to rape her. After the shameful incident, they killed and mutilated her private parts with a sharp-edged weapon.
A media report says that the victim had allegedly refused the marriage proposal of one of the accused following which he took this step, primarily to teach her a lesson.
The forensic reports suggested that the victim was drugged before the gang-rape and murder. The accused also tried to run her over to hide her identity.
The family has allegedly accused one of their their neighbours behind the heinous act.
